Turning Interest Into Action

A Bit About Us

Our founder valued the abilities of youths and recognized that if given good platforms for success, there was nothing they could not achieve. The thought of forming a youth association arose, and was coined BYEP in August of 2015. Quickly, our founder found that the need for a youth program in Botswana with our goals was much needed, and so our initiative took off quickly. Today, we cater to a global forum, exposing our youth to the opportunities available to them. We run a variety of youth led conferences both at home, and abroad that we are able to bring those we work with, helping them network, gain vital global experience, and letting them be exposed to a global business perspective.

Promoting Internet Accesibility and other Resources

Part of our mission is to equip the youth of Botswana with all the resources necessary to champion their personal projects, grow individually, and obtain access to the greatest platforms in the world to talk about their visions. To this end, we believe that internet access is one of the most important avenues to equity and providing new resources to the eager youth of our country. Mr. Akinsola, our president, spoke of this need during his visit to the Y20 in Hamburg.

Partnerships: Gaborone Public Library

We have also partnered with the Gaborone Public Library, which now works in accordance with our team. In partnering, it is our hope to provide those youth we work with the best resources available to them so that they might be able to learn from industry leaders, and apply these skills toward their own success.

Partnerships: Sisebenza Kahle

BYEP strives toward promoting excellence in the youth that we work with. It is for that reason, that our organization partners with other initiatives in order to promote and give resources to the youth we work with. We have had successful partnerships with Sisebenza Kahle, a South African company operated by youth.

Mentorship & Guidance

The specific services we provide are mentorship and career guidance for high school students and young people in businesses. We also provide different global opportunities
like scholarships, innovation challenge competitions, and job opportunities. In doing so, we provide the vital steps that the youth we lead can take in order to become more versed in getting ahead, and succeeding in their endeavors!

BYEP In The News

Our presence at Y20 summit was to stand on behalf of Botswana and the African Union to share our ideas on how our youths can be better empowered to position themselves in the global economy. Every year, the G20 countries bring together global leaders in their field to put on this summit in order to promote youth leadership. BYEP was honored to be able to be invited, as it was a major achievement for us to be able to be recognized. We were able to share our work and vision with youths around the world while also learning much. BYEP leaders were able to speak on investment and partnership in Africa, as well employment for women in STEM fields.
